With more than 30 years of experience in piano lessons, Katherine Scarano provides dynamic and caring instruction to her students. Katherine graduated from Drew University cum laude with a B.A. in Music and Religion.
Katherine uses method books such as Faber and Faber with an assortment of popular and classical books that are geared to the student's interest and level. Each student is treated as the individual that they are! She respects that students will have a learning style that works best for them. Students have two performance opportunities - a more casual Repertoire Class (the dry run) in the spring that is followed by a more structured Recital in June. (Adult students are never forced to play in front of a group.) Students develop a solid skill set so they can have the ability to play the piano throughout their lives. While Katherine loves working with children, adult students are welcomed and valued!
Katherine enjoys helping students unlock their creativity with music.
As the Bell Choir Director at St. Luke's Church in Gladstone, she brings to the group the same level of patience and musicality as with her students.
Katherine offers private lessons either in my studio for students of all ages (from four to 94) If you have trouble travelling to Pottersville, I have a number of students on Skype or Facetime. It actually works very well with older or adult students.
